Canada Memorial Foundation Scholarships
Purpose: The Canada Memorial Foundation offers a small number of awards annually to British post-graduate students to study in Canada for one year. The awards are in memory of the 1 million Canadians who served with Great Britain during the First and Second World Wars.

Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships
Purpose: These scholarships (includes Academic Year/Multi-Year/Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships) aim to further international understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries. During the time abroad, Rotary scholars are expected to be ambassadors of goodwill through presentations to Rotary clubs and districts, school and civic organizations. Upon return home, they are expected to discuss and share their experiences with Rotarians and others.
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be nationals of a country where Rotary Clubs are located and must have completed at least two years of university level coursework before the scholarship begins. Criteria vary from program to program. Local Rotary Clubs or the Rotary Foundation can be contacted for details.
Application Procedure: Application must be made through your local Rotary Club and must be endorsed by the club and the district in which the club is located. The availability and kinds of Rotary Foundation Scholarships are determined by each Rotary district and vary from year to year. Before applying for a Rotary Foundation Scholarship, applicants must contact their local Rotary Club to inquire if and what kind of scholarships are available and to determine local application deadlines. Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute
Purpose: The Institute was established in 1968 by joint announcement of the Governments of Canada and India with the mandate to enhance mutual understanding between the two countries. It promotes the study and understanding of Canada in India and India in Canada.
Canadian Studies Program
Purpose: The purpose of the Canadian Studies Program is to promote understanding of Canada in India. Faculty Research Fellowships, Faculty Enrichment Fellowships, and Doctoral Research Fellowships are all included within this program. Preference is given to projects that focus on topics in the social sciences and the humanities and that lend themselves to enhancing the understanding of Canada or of the Canada-India relationship.
Eligibility Criteria: Eligibility is restricted to those applicants that meet the following criteria.
- Citizens or permanent residents of India;
- Enrolled in a doctoral program in a recognized institution of higher education or equivalent degree-granting organization in India who have completed course and course-related doctoral requirements; and
- Proficient in either English or French.

Trudeau Scholars Program
Purpose: The Program grants new scholarships every year to outstanding doctoral candidates in the social sciences and humanities. The Foundation supports doctoral candidates pursuing research of compelling present-day concern, touching upon one or more of the four themes of the Foundation. Trudeau Scholars are actively engaged in their fields, in which they are expected to become leading national and international figures.
Eligibility Criteria: Open to Canadians or foreign nationals, with preference for those from the developing world. The scholarships are tenable in Canadian universities, and exceptionally outside Canada. Candidates must be applying to a doctoral program, or registered in the first or second year of a doctoral program, and maintain highest international academic standards.

Canada Ukraine Parliamentary Program (CUPP)
Purpose: This program was established by the chair of the Ukrainian Studies Foundation of Toronto to mark the centennial of Ukrainian group immigration to Canada. It allows for undergraduate university students from Ukraine to work and study in the Canadian Parliament and aspires to further equip these students with knowledge to help them contribute to the sustainable and successful future of Ukraine. It is also considered to be a helpful way of sharing with Ukrainian students the precepts of the Rule of Law as practised in Canada.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Citizens of Ukraine
- Undergraduate students from recognized Ukrainian universities
- Proficient in Ukrainian and English or French

Some are for special programs, such as bursaries for the Diploma Program in Community-Based Development offered by the Coady Institute (at St. Francis Xavier University, P.O. Box 5000, Antigonish, Nova Scotia B2G 2W5) or a scholarship for disabled students pursuing studies at the University of Toronto and offered by
